The American West
How did we survive and thrive in the American West? The exercises in this workshop explore the interdisciplinary study of the American history and literature of the late 19th century. This workshop is based on classroom activities that have been developed and tested by K-12 educators. Exercises in this workshop offer participants an opportunity to experience lessons that use the multimedia resources from the Library of Congress American Memory collection including photographs, manuscripts, rare books, sheet music, maps, recorded sound, and moving pictures. The content is developed with scholarly support. All materials, including a workshop facilitator’s guide can be downloaded for free.
