    In Grade 1, students begin to recognize that the heritage, culture, and talents of others are worthy of respect.
    • 1.1. Objective: History

      Identify past and present modes of air, land, and water transportation.
      • 1.1.1. Grade Level Example:
        Identifying past and present forms of communication.
      • 1.1.2. Grade Level Example:
        Identifying past and present types of apparel.
      • 1.1.3. Grade Level Example:
        Identifying past and present types of technology.

    • 1.2. Objective: History

      Describe how primary sources serve as historical records of families and communities.

      Describe the role of money in everyday life.

      Identify traditions of a variety of cultures in Alabama and local communities.
