The August 2008 Newsletter from the Organization of American Historians (OAH) highlights public history, community college professors, and the report of the Third Annual Teaching American History (TAH) Symposium held in March 2008 in New York City.
At the TAH Symposium, keynote speaker Carol Berkin, Presidential Professor of History at Baruch College, City University of New York, addressed bridging the divide between academic historians and history educators, and subsequent audience-centered discussion panels emphasized forging partnerships, sustainability, and professional development.
Also in the newsletter—OAH President Lee Formwalt reviews the decade in the 2008 Annual Report and describes events and comings and goings at OAH Headquarters.
