PBS Television Specials Celebrate African American Lives
During Black History Month in February, Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. returns to PBS with African-American Lives 2, following genealogical expeditions deep into the African-American experience to uncover unknown or forgotten histories. Poet Maya Angelou, author Bliss Broyard, actors Don Cheadle and Morgan Freeman, and theologian Peter Gomes are among the guests. Episodes 1 and 2 (original airdate, February 6) focus on The Road Home and A Way Out of No Way. Episodes Three and Four (original airdate, February 13) explore the topics We Come From People and The Past Is Another Country.
