The Society promotes the preservation of sources of information concerning the history of Roswell; collects and/or preserves historical sites, books, manuscripts, charts, maps, and other antiquities deemed worthy of a place in its archives; arouses in the citizens and friends of Roswell an interest in its history; and cooperates with other cultural and educational institutions in implanting in the present and future generations pride in Roswell's history and traditions. It offers guided walking tours of the Roswell Historic District, which interpret Roswell history and historic sites along the tour route. It also mounts periodic exhibits with historical themes. Exhibits feature materials held in the Society's Archives, including photographs, artifacts, textiles, vintage clothing, and documents or objects relating to Roswell history.

Historic Northampton is a museum of local history in the heart of the Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts. Its collection of approximately 50,000 objects is a repository of Northampton and Connecticut Valley history from the Pre-Contact era to the present. The museum maintains a permanent exhibit chronicling the rich history of Northampton in its main gallery and features changing exhibitions in its rotating exhibit space. Historic Northampton constitutes a campus of three contiguous historic houses, including the 1813 Damon House, the 1719 Parsons House, and the 1796 Shepherd House, all on their original sites. The grounds themselves are part of an original Northampton homelot, laid out in 1654.

In one of Maryland's first state parks (1907), the valley and its natural resources have been enjoyed by the Native Americans, explorers, settlers, and present-day citizens. With its source in Frederick and Carroll counties, the Patapsco serves the Port of Baltimore, and empties into the Chesapeake Bay. The Avalon Visitor Center houses exhibits spanning over 300 years of history along the Patapsco River. Housed in a 19th-century stone dwelling in the Avalon Area, the center includes a recreation of a 1930s forest warden's office. The park contains several historic sites, including the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, the Thomas Viaduct, remains of the Orange Grove Mill, the Avalon Iron and Nail Works, and Bloedes Dam.

The Society operates several historic sites, including the Old Lighthouse Museum and Captain Palmer House. The 1823 Old Lighthouse Museum's six rooms of exhibits testify to the history of this coastal region through exhibits depicting the lives of Stonington's fishermen and farmers, merchants and shipbuilders, pottery makers, blacksmiths, and many other trades. Each year a special aspect of Stonington history is featured. One room with a large dollhouse is reserved for items of interest to children and adults. The 1852 Captain Palmer House displays memorabilia pertaining to Nathaniel's discovery of Antarctica and the Palmer brothers' adventurous lives, as well as other Stonington family portraits, furnishings, and artifacts.

The Oysterponds Historical Society preserves and interprets the heritage of Orient and East Marion (formerly Oysterponds) by maintaining a museum that collects, preserves, and exhibits artifacts pertaining to Oysterponds history and life; by maintaining a research library of material relevant to Oysterponds history; by providing cultural opportunities through educational and public programs and activities; and by promoting an interest in the history of Oysterponds. The Society is housed in several historic structures, including the 1888 Old Point Schoolhouse, which displays exhibits, and the 1720 Webb House, which offers seasonal tours.

The Center presents interpretative exhibits covering the entire history of the Columbia Gorge, from prehistory to the present day, including First Peoples, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, forts and settlements in the area, timber and fishing industries, transportation up and down the river, and other historical topics.

The Center is a nonprofit resource center and showcase for historic preservation. It offers a wide range of education programs and exhibits to help people appreciate, restore, and maintain vintage properties. The Center includes two exhibition galleries, two classrooms, workshop space, a library, collections storage spaces and the Foundation's offices. Its exhibits display artifacts from its extensive collection of architectural hardware, fixtures, and other objects.

The Museum is housed in the restored 1891 Southern Pacific Depot. The Valley's past is featured in a permanent exhibit that includes artifacts, an historical narrative frieze, and pictures of historic buildings. In addition to this permanent exhibit on Valley history, the Museum sponsors revolving exhibits and several guided tours including the Alamo Cemetery and Old Town Danville.

The Society was formed in 1972 to perpetuate the mission of preserving the rich history of Jericho, Vermont, and the legacy of Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley. The Society's 1885 headquarters is located in the historic Chittenden Mills, a national historic site. The Old Red Mill, as it is known, houses a milling museum, art gallery, craft shop, and is also the home of the "Snowflake" Bentley Exhibit. Native son, Wilson A. Bentley, pioneered the technique of photomicrography and was the first person to photograph a single snowflake. The entire lower level of the building displays priceless mementos of "Snowflake" Bentley, original milling machinery, and the products of Jericho's water-powered mills.
