In Dr. King's Words
In 2011, the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial opened to the public. On one side of the statue is a direct quote from King; on the other side is a paraphrased quote. Since the monument opened, people have spoken up against the decision to paraphrase King’s words, noting that the paraphrase significantly changes the meaning.
