Cragfont was the home of General James Winchester, a protagonist of the American Revolution, a pioneer in the Middle Tennessee wilderness, a soldier against indigenous Americans, a brigadier general in the War of 1812, and co-founder of the City of Memphis. The construction of Cragfont was started in 1798 and finished in 1802. It was the finest mansion on the Tennessee frontier and typified the grandeur and style of the best architecture of the late Georgian period. Named Cragfont because it stood on a rocky bluff with a spring at its base, the house is furnished with Federal antiques, some of which are original to the Winchester family. The basement holds an authentic weaving room.

The Beverly Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the socio-cultural, artistic, and transportation history of Beverly, Massachusetts and Massachusetts' North Shore. To this end, the society operates a museum of local history, the 17th-century Balch House, the Reverend John Hale Farm, and the Charles W. Galloupe Sr. Memorial Library. Collections consist of more than 750,000 artifacts. Highlights include a fire bucket, military artifacts, local maritime artifacts, paintings from the 18th through early 20th centuries, documents signed by U.S. Presidents, children's artifacts, and genealogical resources. The society also boasts an extensive collection of photographs and pamphlets of all manner of transportation technologies. The 1781 John Cabot House Museum holds both the library and exhibits. Permanent exhibits address the Revolutionary War and the Beverly Bank, established 1802. The Balch House is furnished to period. The Hale Farm is furnished to depict changing trends in Beverly's history.

The society offers exhibits, tours of the Cabot House, Balch House tours, Hale Farm tours, research library access, research assistance, curriculum-based programs, a one-hour Balch House tour for students, a two-hour historic Beverly bus tour for students, an outreach living history program for students, and teacher workshops. Fees are required for both non-member library access and research assistance. Non-member library access is limited. The living history program depicts author and poet Lucy Larcom (1824-1893).

The Ashland estate consists of an 18-room mansion, outbuildings, exhibit space, formal gardens, and walking trails. Henry Clay (1777-1852) temporarily quelled the regionalism which eventually led to attempted secession, helped negotiate the Treaty of Ghent, served as Speaker of the House, supported South American governments, and introduced the Amicus Brief. Clay was also a Senator, Secretary of State, lawyer, farmer, and horseman. The structure itself was completed circa 1812, in the Federal style. Rebuilt in 1857 by later family members, the home is still similar to its original appearance but now includes Italianate, Victorian, and Greek Revival elements.

The estate offers one-hour guided mansion tours, period rooms, thematic and general guided tours for students, exhibits, self-guided outbuilding tours, gardens, trails, and a cafe. It is advisable to schedule as far in advance as possible for school visits. The website offers pre-visit handouts, a trivia game, and suggested reading lists for students.

The Manchester Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Manchester, Connecticut. To this end, the society operates the Old Manchester Museum, located within the 1859 Cheney School; the 1798 Cheney Homestead, home to the founding family of the Mt. Nebo Silk Company; and a reconstruction of the 1751 Keeney Schoolhouse. The Manchester area was originally inhabited by the Podunk. English settlers arrived circa 1783.

The society offers exhibits, lectures, period rooms, school tours, walking tours of the Cheney Mills area, and archival access. The Cheney Homestead and Keeney Schoolhouse are open by appointment. The website offers a coloring book and historical photographs.

The 1905 Anderson House is a Beaux Arts mansion, which served as the residence of Larz Anderson III (1866-1937), diplomat and Ambassador to Japan, and his wife Isabel (1876-1948), author of travel memoirs, poetry, and family histories. The interior favors English and Italian elements. The collection strength is artifacts of the Revolutionary War. The house is the headquarters of the Society of Cincinnati, a society interested in Revolutionary War history.

The house offers period rooms, exhibits, guided tours, and monthly artifact presentations and talks. Reservations are required for groups of ten or more. Tours are offered in several languages, and can be tailored to specific interests given advance notice.

Ker Place is a circa 1800 Federal-style residence, now serving as a historic house museum. The museum provides information on the history of Virginia's Eastern shore. This structure serves as the headquarters of and is operated by the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society.

The Washburn-Norlands Living History Center depicts 18th- and 19th-century rural life in the state of Maine. Norlands was originally the Washburn family home. This family included a Senator, Secretary of State, congressmen, governors, and founders of the Washburn-Crosby Gold Medal Flour Company. Structures include a one-room schoolhouse, mansion, meeting house, and library.

The site offers living history interpreters, period rooms, guided building tours, self-guided grounds tours, curriculum-based interactive programs for students, outreach programs for schools, hands-on activities, overnight programs, and picnic tables.

In spring and summer, bright flowers surround this plantation house named for its location on a horseshoe bend in the Deep River. The house (circa 1770) was owned by Philip Alston, whose band of colonists seeking independence from Britain was attacked here in 1781 during the American Revolution by British loyalists led by David Fanning. Later, four-term governor Benjamin Williams lived in the house, which now features antiques of the colonial and Revolutionary War eras.

The Lorenzo State Historic Site consists of Lorenzo, the 1807 neoclassical residence of five generations of the the Lincklaen or Ledyard family. The residence was built for John Lincklaen who founded the village of Cazenovia, New York; and worked for the Holland Land Company. The Rippleton Schoolhouse is available for educational programming.

The site offers audio-visual programs, costumed interpreters, gardens, guided tours, exhibits, educational services, interpretive signs, archival access, and a picnic area.

The Washington County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Washington County, MD. To this end, the society operates a museum within the Miller House, a late Federal townhouse dating to between 1818 and 1823, and the 1904 two-room Beaver Creek School. Exhibits in the Miller House include period rooms set to 1850s through 1870s appearances, clocks, dolls, Shenandoah Valley pottery, the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, and the C and O Canal. The house grounds also include a library and gardens. The Beaver Creek School contains period school, workshop, parlor, and cobbler shop settings; vintage toys; costumes and uniforms; an 1840s hand crank organ; and other artifacts.
