Visitors to Arthurdale, WV can revisit the 1930s. Established in 1933, by the United States government, Arthurdale is the nation's first New Deal Homestead Community. Created through President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal legislation, the community provided a new chance at life for residents of West Virginia who were suffering from the Great Depression. First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt served as the empathetic force behind the community, which became known as "Eleanor’s Little Village" because of her interest. Today, Arthurdale is a National Historic District that features 160 of the 165 original homesteads. The New Deal Homestead Museum is a multi-building museum comprised of a forge filled with original tools, a service station reminiscent of a bygone era, the historic Center Hall, the original federal government administration building, and a fully restored Arthurdale homestead.

The museum offers exhibits, tours, and occasional recreational and educational events.

The Society operates the Old Austerlitz Historical Village where artifacts, photos, and memorabilia relating to the town are displayed in a collection of 18th and 19th century buildings. These buildings include an 1818 one-room schoolhouse, an 1850s church, a blacksmith's, the 1770 Sauers-Kellogg House, a granary, the Morey-Deveraux House, and the 1830s Varney House.

The society offers occasional recreational and educational events; the village offers tours.

The Society offers a wide variety of activities for all ages throughout the year. At its home, the former Ball Residence, are housed the Society's museum exhibits, library, and archives. Museum exhibits include research-level collections of glass, pottery, and other locally produced items, along with a regular schedule of temporary feature exhibits. The Society also operates the Wyman Tavern. Built by Captain Isaac Wyman in 1762, it was initially used as a tavern for 40 years. The Reverend Zadekiah Barstow, the last settled minister by the town, made the tavern his home for the next 55 years. It is now maintained as a period house museum representing the period from 1770 to 1860.

The museum offers exhibits, tours, educational programs, research library access, and occasional recreational and educational events; the Tavern offers tours, educational programs, and occasional recreational and educational events (including living history events).

Open since 1996, the museum is housed on the second floor of the historic Kennesaw House. Originally a cotton warehouse built in 1845, it was remodeled to become the Fletcher House Hotel in 1855. Today the museum houses four galleries featuring collections from the Civil War, Local History, Home Life and the Military. Unique to the museum is the Civil War collection featuring the history of the Georgia Military Institute, the story of the only slave buried in the Marietta Confederate Cemetery and the distinction of involvement in the infamous Union plot to steal the Confederate Locomotive called The General.

The Ontario County Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation of the history of Ontario County, the original political entity that now encompasses all of western New York state. The society operates the Ontario County Historical Museum, located on Main Street Canandaigua. In addition to three exhibit galleries, the museum also holds the society archives and library.

The Washington State History Museum is where fascination and FUN come together! Historic Georgetown, a Colorado non-profit corporation, was created to initiate, encourage and integrate efforts to preserve the rich heritage of the Georgetown/Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District. Historic Georgetown Inc. is dedicated to preserving five different 19th century homes in order to give visitors a glimpse at what early life was like in Georgetown, from the poor to the rich.

The site offers virtual tours of all five faithfully restored homes, as well as information about Historic Georgetown Inc. and its upcoming events.

The National Railroad Museum, built in 1958, strives to introduce visitors to a chapter in American history that bought wealth and modernity to millions of Americans. The Museum looks beyond the simple technical history of rail to the cultural and economic changes it brought to America.

The First National Bank is one of Columbia, Pennsylvania's oldest and most historic buildings. Founded in 1864, the First National Bank of Columbia moved into the building, which had been built in 1814 and had served as a residence and hotel up until that point. The building was converted into a museum in 1967. The museum is a faithful recreation of the bank in its original setting, and visitors can enjoy exploring the bank building as it looked in the late 19th century.
