Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site features the modest two-story frame house in the railroad town of Denison where Dwight D. Eisenhower was born in 1890. Eisenhower's father worked for the railroad and the birthplace contains family possessions and period antiques demonstrating the lifestyle of a late 19th-century working family. The site includes six acres of scenic woods and creek bottomland intersected by an abandoned rail track turned into a hiking path. The visitor center is a historic structure filled with hundreds of items relating to Eisenhower and his role in U.S. and world history.

Rosedale, originally part of a 911 acre plantation, was built in 1815 by Archibald Frew, merchant, postmaster and tax collector. In the 1830s, a doctor occupied the residence. He oversaw both his practice and the plantation work, carried out by two slave families. Rosedale exemplifies Federal period architecture (1780–1830) and is noted for its faux grain woodwork and the original French wallpaper that survives in three rooms. On a broader scope, the plantation is motivated by the preservation, exhibition, interpretation, and preservation of the architecture, decorative arts, and lifestyle of the 19th–century Catawba River Valley region.

The plantation offers guided tours (both in modern and period dress), hands-on activities, role playing, and educational activities (with listed corresponding state
standards) specifically for field trips.

One of the nation's best preserved Victorian-era homes, St. Paul's Ramsey House offers a glimpse into family and servant life in the 1870s, with the house decoration reflecting 1872–1900. Ramsey himself served as Minnesota Territorial Governor, mayor of St. Paul, second state governor, U.S. Senator, and Secretary of War under President Hayes.

The site offers tours by guides in period dress, lectures, and digitized pre-visit curricula.

The "Old Jail" at 175 East King Street in Chambersburg, PA, is home to the Society. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, the Old Jail also houses a museum and genealogical library. The Society also owns and maintains the Brown's Mill School (a primary school in use from 1836–1921).

The Wayne County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the history of Wayne County, Pennsylvania. The society owns and operates three museums, the 810 Main Street Museum which focuses on local history, the JB Parks Farm Museum, which is open during the county fair and showcases the history of Wayne County agriculture, and the Bethel School, which is a historic one room schoolhouse.

The 810 Main Street Museum offers guided tours while the J.B. Parks Farm Museum and the Bethel Schoolhouse both offer self-guided tours. The society also offers special events including periodic speakers, and offers speakers which will lecture on a variety of topics. Visitors to the Goodnow House gain a glimpse into domestic life in the 1800s and learn the story of free-staters who wanted organized and equal education for the boys and girls of Kansas. Isaac Goodnow, one of Manhattan's founders, and his wife, Ellen, built this stone farmhouse, which still holds many original furnishings and documents, in the 1860s. Isaac started the Kansas State Teachers Association and established the college that became Kansas State University.

The Eureka Schoolhouse is over 200 years old and represents Vermont's oldest one-room schoolhouse. The schoolhouse was restored in 1968 and is currently owned and maintained by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation and is operated as an area attraction by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

The schoolhouse offers visitors a window into the history of Vermont. The schoolhouse is furnished with antique furniture and is open to visitors year-round for tours. The website offers a history of the schoolhouse, three historic photographs of the schoolhouse, and visitor information.

Built between 1821 and 1841, the three mission houses that make up the Museum served as homes and workplaces for the first Christian missionaries to travel to the Hawaiian Islands. The Frame House (Ka Hale La'āu), was shipped around Cape Horn from Boston in 1820 and is the oldest wood house in Hawai'i. The Chamberlain House (Ka Hale Kamalani), built of coral blocks in 1831, was both a family home and storehouse for mission supplies. The third building, also of coral blocks, completed in 1841, today functions as the Printing Office (Ka Hale Pa'i). A working replica of the first printing press to be brought to Hawai'i is demonstrated there on a regular basis. In addition, the Museum grounds are the location of the Hawaiian Mission Children's Society (HMCS) library. Among the library's artifacts are the earliest books printed in the Hawaiian language. These books were used by missionaries and scholars alike in church and school.

The Dutch Colonial Revival Pearce-McAllister Cottage, built in 1899, reflected the original owners' desires to have a cottage similar to those seen in the older districts of the eastern United States. The second owners, the McAllisters, remodeled the interior in the 1920s decor seen in the home. Today, the Pearce-McAllister Cottage is home to the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls, and Toys, which manages the site, and has exhibits throughout the house. The collection encompasses more than 10,000 items dating from 1680 through today.

Save Our Seminary at Forest Glen is a nonprofit organization founded to "combat the neglect of the unique, beautiful, and historic buildings and landscape of the National Park Seminary in Silver Spring, Maryland." To this end, the organization has worked tirelessly to restore many of the buildings in the seminary, and runs tours of the seminary for visitors from March through November. The seminary complex dates to circa 1887.
