The Windham Textile and History Museum presents the history and influence of the U.S. textile industry. Particular focus is given to 1870 through 1920 cotton thread manufacturers in eastern Connecticut; the ethnicity, duties, and recreation of mill workers; and the role of mill managers and employees in U.S. industrialization. The museum is housed within two 1877 structures, once part of the Willimantic Linen Company complex.
The museum offers exhibits, 90-minute guided student tours, hands-on activities for students, slide presentations for students, outreach programs for students, and research library access. The Vermont State Historical Society presents the history of the state of Vermont from the days of Abenaki dominance to circa 2000. To this end, the society operates a museum and a history and genealogy research library. The Vermont History Museum's permanent exhibit depicts change over time through a series of full-size period settings, interpreting the state motto, "Freedom and Unity." Collection highlights include the document which officially admitted Vermont to the Union and shoe buckles once worn by Ethan Allen (1738-1789), who helped capture Fort Ticonderoga in 1775.

The Framingham History Center presents the history of Framingham, MA. Exhibits of local historical interest are housed within the Edgell Memorial Library, completed in 1872. The collections consist of more than 12,000 artifacts dating from 10,000 BC through present day.

The Mark Twain House and Museum consists of the Hartford, CT property in which famed author Mark Twain (1835-1910) once lived. Changing exhibits provide social context for Mark Twain's literary works and the interpretation of his home. Twain is most widely recognized for his literary creations Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn and his strong use of satire.
The house offers an introductory film, house tours, kitchen and servant wing tours, group tours, student tours, exhibits, curriculum-based student programs, concerts, and a cafe. Group and student tours must include 10 or more visitors, and be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. Reservations are required for all groups planning to use the cafe, and box lunches can be ordered in advance by groups of 15 or more. The upper floors of the home are not wheelchair accessible. The Hampton Historical Society of Hampton, NH is a local history organization with its own museum, the Tuck Museum. The Tuck Museum currently consists of many 20th century historical buildings including the Museum building, barn, beach cottage, schoolhouse, fire museum, well, and various monuments and markers. The collection contains period school equipment, antique fire-fighting tools, maps, photographs, painting, and other authentic local items.

Nineteenth Century Willowbrook Village offers the opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in 19th-century daily life. Sights include two historic houses; two historic barns; a reproduction schoolhouse and bandstand; an 1894 carousel; an 1849 Concord stagecoach; a 1945 multi-wing aircraft; and blacksmith, broom maker, cooper, harness maker, printer, woodworker, wheelwright, canoe building, ice harvesting, bicycle shop, machine shop, maple-sugaring, and cobbler displays.
The village offers exhibits, period rooms, group tours, guided student tours, curriculum-based student programs, outreach programs for students, picnic tables, and a cafe. Student tours may be scheduled for May through October. Educational programs are only available in May and June. Approximately 50 percent of the site is wheelchair accessible.
