The Raynham Historical Society, Inc. is an organization of individuals with a common interest in preserving and perpetuating the history of the town of Raynham, Massachusetts. The objectives of this Society shall be:
1.to engage in the collection, holding, and preserving of documents, papers, furniture, pictures, data both personal and real, books, memoirs and all other matters relating to Raynham history;
2.to encourage research into the records and identify old landmarks; and
3.to perpetuate the history of the citizens of Raynham, their manner, customs, and achievements and any other activity that might historically enhance the town.

The Boothbay Railway Village operates a narrow-gauge coal-fired steam train in a recreated historic village composed of locally significant historic structures. Additionally the museum exhibits one of the finest presentations of antique vehicles in New England.

Nestled in the Litchfield Hills, Topsmead State Forest preserves a piece of a past era with the fine craftsmanship and understated wealth evident throughout the former summer estate of Miss Edith Morton Chase.

The Society offers a wide variety of activities for all ages throughout the year. At its home, the former Ball Residence, are housed the Society's museum exhibits, library, and archives. Museum exhibits include research-level collections of glass, pottery, and other locally produced items, along with a regular schedule of temporary feature exhibits. The Society also operates the Wyman Tavern. Built by Captain Isaac Wyman in 1762, it was initially used as a tavern for 40 years. The Reverend Zadekiah Barstow, the last settled minister by the town, made the tavern his home for the next 55 years. It is now maintained as a period house museum representing the period from 1770 to 1860.

Located in the 1762 Brick Market (designed by Peter Harrison) the Society's Museum provides the whole family with an introduction to the area's rich history and the beauty of its architecture. Visitors glimpse the lives of the people—past and present—who have made Newport one of America's most historic cities. The Society also manages several historical sites, including the 1730 Seventh Day Baptist Meeting House, the 1697 Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House, the 1699 Great Friends Meeting House, and the 1739 Newport Colony House.

The Society seeks to preserve, interpret, and educate the public on the history of Jamaica Plains and the local area.

Visitors can step back in time to 17th-century New England at Salem's oldest living history museum. The site is a recreation of the English colony established by Roger Conant and his intrepid band of settlers. From these humbling beginnings the seeds of Revolution were planted.

The Society is housed in the Jonathan Bourne Historical Center, built in 1897 by Emily Howland Bourne as a town library and as a memorial to her father, Jonathan Bourne, for whom the town was named. The Society also manages the Aptucxet Trading Post and the Briggs-McDermott House. The Trading Post recreates the first trade house built in 1627, by Plymouth Colony, located on the south bank of the Manomet (Monument) River, which is now part of the Cape Cod Canal. The Pilgrims traded with the Indians and the Dutch from New Amsterdam (New York City), thus having a source of income by which their debt to the London backers of their expedition to the New World could be repaid. The Trading Post site also houses Gray Gables Railroad Station, built for the personal use of President Grover Cleveland during the years of his presidency (1893–1896). The Greek Revival-style Briggs-McDermott House has been restored and furnished to reflect the period from 1840 to 1910, an important time for the Briggs family and Bourne.

The Varnum Continentals built their armory in 1913 in the medieval architectural style. The armory is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A 1984 State Historical Building Survey described the Varnum Memorial Armory as remaining in perfect original condition. Among the key architectural details are the towers, the massive double doors, the multiple arched windows, and the crenellated parapet along the roofline. The armory serves contains an extensive military and naval museum which has been acquired through donation and purchase.
