The Wyandot County Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the acquisition, preservation, and interpretation of physical evidence, relevant to the history of Wyandot County, OH, and surrounding areas. To fulfill such purposes, the Wyandot County Historical Society will support, operate and maintain facilities with professional standards of operation for its collections. In particular, the historical society runs two museums, the Overland Inn Museum and the Wyandot County Museum. The Overland Inn Museum is a living history museum which gives visitors a sense of life on the road in the 19th century, while the Wyandot County Museum is a typical local history museum with exhibits and artifacts which chronicle local history.

In 1963 the Wisconsin Legislature voted to create a permanent home for the carriage collection of Wesley W. Jung, grandson of a Sheboygan carriage maker, at the Wade House site. In 1968, the Wesley Jung Carriage Museum opened to the public. Today, the Wade House Museum contains the entire estate, and offers visitors a comprehensive view into stagecoach travel and life in the midwest in the mid 19th century.

The location offers visitors a variety of activities including group and private tours, special events, and four separate historical museums, along with a visitor center and gift shop. The Bayou Vermilion District preserves the Bayou Vermilion watershed, once considered one of the nation's most polluted waterways. Today, the District runs Vermilionville, a living history village recreating life in the Acadiana area between 1765 and 1890. The village encompasses 18 buildings, where interpreters demonstrate traditional music and crafts.

The District offers exhibits, demonstrations, tours for school groups (which may include bag or hot lunches), workshops, cooking classes, boat tours, and other recreational and educational events. The Conococheague Institute serves as a center for developing and promoting an awareness of the natural history and cultural significance of the Conococheague region, and more broadly, the Appalachian frontier in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. The Institute has a special focus on exploring the history of the clash of cultures in the backcountry and the conflicts here from the French and Indian War through the American Revolution.

The location offers visitors a variety of special events and educational programs, exhibits that illustrate the lives of early Central Pennsylvania Settlers, and provides a collection of primary and secondary books and other materials which explore the history of the region and the French and Indian War. The site offers genealogical information, an events calendar, an online gift shop, and general information about the institute.

The Pompey Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of Pompey. The historical society accomplishes these aims through the William G. Pomeroy Museum and Research Center, which includes exhibits and artifacts relating to Pompey's history as well as genealogical information.

Visitors to the society can explore the museum and research library, as well as take part in a variety of historical events put on by the society such as lectures, restoration projects, and ceremonies. The site offers a history of Pompey, general visitor information, and genealogical information.

The Kansas African American Museum is dedicated towards preserving the regional culture and lives of the African American population of Kansas. The museum was first created in 1974, and was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. Now, the museum boasts a "varied collection of multi-media presentations, rare artifacts, African Art, original sculptures, paintings, musical scores, musical recordings and history of local musicians."

The Yuma Quartermaster Depot was used to store and distribute supplies for all military posts in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas. Currently, five of the original buildings remain on the park grounds, and four contain exhibits which show visitors the military history of the site and the history of the irrigation construction in the Yuma area in the early 20th century. The park also has a visitor's center and gift shop.

The site offers visitor information, a history of the park, a photo gallery featuring 20 photographs of the park and its exhibits, a "for kids'' section with information on kid's programs, an events calendar, and information on other area attractions.

The Historic Fourth Ward School Museum is located in Comstock Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Permanent exhibit topics include area history, mining, the Fourth Ward School building, Virginia City Alumni, Mark Twain, and education in the 1870s.

The museum offers exhibits, guided tours, and a junior docent program. The website offers lesson plans.

The John Brown State Historic Site is comprised of John Brown's home and grave. Brown (1800-1859) advocated abolition through armed resistance. He is best known for the 1859 raid at Harper's Ferry, although he also led the 1856 Pottawatomie Massacre.

The site offers guided tours and reenactments, as well as a variety of outdoors activities, including hiking and cross-country skiing. The site only offers basic visitor and historic information.

The Fire Hose Cart House is the last remaining 19th century firehouse on Nantucket Island. The structure was built in 1886, and was in service for well over a half century. The structure was acquired by the Nantucket Historical Association in 1960. Today, visitors to the museum can view a variety of vintage firefighting equipment, including some rare equipment relating to the great fire of 1846.

The site offers brief historical and visitor information regarding the Hose Cart House. In addition, the site is part of the greater website of the Nantucket Historical Association, and so offers library access, information about the rest of the association's historical properties, and information regarding upcoming events.
