The Wichita County Heritage Society preserves and presents the history of Wichita County. The Society operates the Kell House Museum, a restored 1909 neo-classical home, that, according to the Society's website, "features distinctive architecture, original family furnishings, textiles, decorative arts, and historic costumes."

Rokeby Museum is a 90-acre historic site and National Historic Landmark that was home to a remarkable Quaker family from 1793 to 1961. From early settlers to radical abolitionists to distinguished artists and writers, each generation of Robinsons left its mark on the site, the state, and the country. Rokeby was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1997 for its unsurpassed underground railroad history. The Museum's mission is to "connect visitors with the human experience of the underground railroad and with the Robinson family, who lived on and farmed this land for nearly 200 years." We ofter a primary source document-based underground railroad program both on site and in the classroom as well as two kits exploring abolitionist history. The site includes a fully furnished Federal style house, eight historic farm buildings, and acres of hiking trails

The Three Lakes Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the history of Three Lakes and all of northeastern Wisconsin. The society owns and operates a museum, which features artifacts and memorabilia from the Three Lakes region along with a restored log cabin. The cabin serves as a historic house museum where visitors can gain an appreciation for pioneer life in the northern midwest.

The Cooper-Molera Adobe was fully restored in the 1980s and now shows visitors the full elegance and wealth of the John Rogers Cooper family. In addition to the home, the adobe also has two full acres which are open to visitors. Visitors can see the barns, vegetable and fruit gardens, and farm animals that the Cooper family owned.

The home offers guided tours. The website offers basic historical and visitor information.

"The Milo Historical Society was formed in 1970 by a group of community members with an interest in collecting, preserving, and promoting the history and the heritage of the Town of Milo, Maine." In 1996, the society's museum was moved from the old Milo Town Hall into the oldest church building in the community. The museum itself features a collection of local artifacts as well as a historic archive.

The site offers eight photo albums, including photographs from the museum, historical information about the town of Milo, and an events calendar.

The Skinner Farm Museum is located in Perrysville, IN, which was located strategically on the Wabash and Erie Canal and became a hub for river commerce and business. The museum is composed of a working farm and a restored historic village. The museum village is representative of more than 150 years of local life. Museum highlights include a steam and gas show hosted once a year.

The site offers an online antique store, visitor information, historical information, hearth cooking/baking recipes, and a photographic tour of the museum.

"The Washington County Historical Society is a vibrant, educational, non-profit organization, chartered by the NYS Board of Regents in 1940. Its primary purpose is to promote public interest and participation in the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Washington County, NY. The Heritage Research Library, a repository for regional books, written documents, genealogical information, and memorabilia, and the publication of eighteen books highlight preservation efforts. Lectures, workshops, tours and social events are scheduled throughout the year."

Fort Selden was established in 1865 in an effort to bring peace to the south-central region of present-day New Mexico. Built on the banks of the Rio Grande, this adobe fort housed units of the U.S. Infantry and Cavalry. Their intent was to protect settlers and travelers in the Mesilla Valley from desperados and Apache Indians. Several of the units stationed at the fort were black troopers, referred to as Buffalo Soldiers. A young Douglas MacArthur called the fort home while his father was post commander in the late 1880s. By 1890 criminals and raiding parties were no longer considered a threat as hostilities eventually lessened and the fort was no longer needed. Like many small forts in the Southwest the government decommissioned the fort and it was abandoned in 1891. Today the stark adobe brick walls of the frontier past evoke a feeling of personal connection to the past. A visitor center offers exhibits on frontier and military life.

Historic Prince William is a non-profit organization dedicated to "disseminating historical information through programs and publications, promoting historical preservation and protection of County resources through public education, and broadening the base of public interest in local history by sponsoring tours, speaking in schools, supporting research, and printing material of historical interest." The organization works tirelessly to preserve historic structures in Prince William County as well as help support national treasures like Manassas Battlefield.

The site offers photographs of historical structures in Prince William County, a history section with articles and features on Prince William County History, and publications on Prince William County history for sale.

"To help Iowans comprehend who they are and what they can become, the State Historical Society of Iowa serves as a trustee of Iowa’s historical legacy and an advocate for understanding Iowa’s past." The society does this by collecting, preserving, and managing Iowa's historical resources. In addition, the society focuses on educating Iowans of all ages, conducting and encouraging historical research, and encouraging historical preservation and education efforts throughout the state. The society also operates a museum of Iowa history and a research archives and library.
