The Alachua County Historical Commission is the official county agency concerned with heritage and history. It represents Alachua County in matters pertaining to the history of Alachua County; and provides leadership in advancing the identification, protection, preservation and interpretation of Alachua County's cultural heritage and history.

United States Lighthouse Society, Chesapeake Chapter [VA]

Florida Council for the Social Studies Endowment Fund

This award recognizes educators who have made an outstanding contribution to the teaching of social studies in the state of Georgia.

Catawba Valley Endowment

Description

A limited number of scholarships are available on a first-come basis for teachers in Alexander, Iredell, Caldwell, Burke, and Catawba counties. Scholarships may be used for workshops, student projects, art supplies, and in-bound trips to the North Carolina Museum of Art. Funds are also available to pay substitutes for teachers wishing to enroll in a workshop.
