The Comstock House Historic Site preserves the 1882 home of Solomon Comstock—founder of both the First National Bank and Moorhead State University and an early stakeholder in the creation of a Red River Valley railroad. The interior contains the original Queen Anne Eastlake furnishings.

From 1892 through 1954, the CRRNJ Terminal stood with the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island to unfold one of this nation's most dramatic stories: the immigration of northern, southern, and eastern Europeans, among others, into the United States. After being greeted by the Statue of Liberty and processed at Ellis Island, these immigrants purchased tickets and boarded trains at the Terminal to their new homes.

The Nevada County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Nevada County, California. To this end, the society operates the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum, North Star Mine Powerhouse and Pelton Wheel Museum, Firehouse Museum, and Searls Library. The railroad museum presents local transportation history. Collection highlights include seven historic railroad cars, dating from 1889 to circa 1940. The mining museum's collection highlights include a working Cornish pump; working stamp mill; and the largest Pelton wheel, a mechanism for supplying air to power the mines, ever made. The Firehouse Museum, housed in an 1861 structure, presents exhibits on the Maidu people, the Donner Party, Chinese-American daily life and religion between 1877 and 1938, and vernacular items dating from circa 1850 to present.

The Heritage Museum presents the history of Lincoln County, Montana. Exhibit topics include transportation, explorers, fur trappers, the Kootenai people, mining, logging, and the natural environment. Period rooms display 19th-century life.

The Historic Warehouse District Development Corporation seeks to bolster the vitality of Cleveland, Ohio's previous commercial center. Prior to the 1850s, this area served as Cleveland's residential section. Over time, it shifted to hold warehouses, small businesses, and offices for the iron, coal, railway, and shipping industries. By the 1920s, this section of the city had grown to include a garment district, rivaling the garment production of New York City at that time.

The Gresham Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Gresham, Oregon and the surrounding area. To this end, they operate three facilities—The Gresham History Museum, The Pauletta Ewalt Memorial Brick Wall which stands on the site of the old Gresham Pioneer Church, and a replica of Linnemann Station.

The Evergreen Museum and Library presents more than 50,000 objects once owned by Baltimore's railway royalty—the Garrett family. The collection, which includes manuscripts, decorative arts, artworks, and more than 8,000 rare books, is housed within the residence in which the Garretts lived between 1878 and 1942. Key artworks include those of Degas, Picasso, and a variety of post-Impressionists; and the museum boasts one of the largest privately held collections of both Japanese minor arts and Tiffany glass. Also within the house is the Bakst Theatre, decorated by Leon Bakst, costume and set designer of the Ballet Russes, a major visual influence of the early 1900s. A 28,600-volume library is available for use. The non-circulating collection's strength is 16th- and 17th-century English literature and history.
