"Organized in 1986, the Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame honors our own heroes and legends, spanning the rich history of sports achievement in the Lake Michigan shoreline area anchored by Ludington to the North and Grand Haven to the south."
Also known as Point Santa Cruz, this beach forms the northern boundary of Monterey Bay. It is one of the last open headlands in any California urban area. Housed in the Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse, the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum traces over 100 years of surfing history as it relates to Santa Cruz. Visitors to the museum can enjoy a spectacular view of Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay while overlooking Steamer Lane, an internationally known surfing site. Museum displays include surf boards ranging from redwood "planks" to modern high-tech designs, early wetsuits, photographs showing Santa Cruz surfers and wave riding from the 1930s through today, and continuous videos illustrating surfing's ever-changing styles.

The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum commemorates figures and processes crucial to or exemplary of Mississippi sportsmanship. Museum exhibit topics include sports broadcasting; Dizzy Dean (1910-1974), famed baseball pitcher; major sports figures; Mississippi Olympic medal winners; sports medicine; high school athletes; golf; soccer; baseball; and football. Several exhibits encourage active participation.

The Herreshoff Marine Museum / America's Cup Hall of Fame celebrates the unique accomplishments of the Herreshoff family and the related drama of the America's Cup races. From 1863 to 1945, the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company, on the site of the present day Museum, produced the world's finest yachts. The genius of naval architect Captain Nathanael Greene Herreshoff along with the business acumen of his blind older brother John Brown Herreshoff truly built the "better mouse trap" for which the world beat a path to Bristol. Today, visitors from around the world see the nation's finest collection of yachts, all Herreshoff and many more than 100 years old. They can view the design models recording Captain Nat's design genius and see the products of his innovations. The companion America's Cup Hall of Fame is the international center for appreciation of the Cup.

The African and African American Historical Museum presents African American history and culture. Exhibit topics include the Middle Passage, African artifacts, the efforts of African-American inventors, the Underground Railroad, African American music, local history, and local sports.

The Goodhue County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Goodhue County, Minnesota. To this end, the society operates the History Center. Collections include more than 150,000 artifacts, ranging back to prehistoric times. Permanent displays address Native American life, military history, geology, natural history, sports, leisure, costume, agriculture, archaeology, business, and immigration.
The society offers exhibits, customizable one-hour guided tours of the History Center, student educational programs, traveling trunks, traveling exhibits, films for rental, artifacts available for classroom use, research library access, and research assistance.
