Ardenwood Historic Farm is the historic home of George Washington Patterson. Patterson came west in 1849 during the gold rush to seek his fortune; instead he settled at Ardenwood Farm in southern Alameda County. The Historic Farm is faithfully restored and features agricultural practices from the 1870s to the present, demonstrating the transition from horse-powered equipment to modern farming equipment. There are more attractions than just the house, however. The park also features a horse-drawn train, victorian garden, animal farms, and a restored blacksmith shop.

Located in the heart of downtown Keyport, the Keyport Fire Museum and Education Center is houses in the former quarters of Raritan Hose Co. No. 2. Built in 1900 and moved to its present site in 1919, the building opened as a museum in October of 2003 after thousands of hours of volunteer labor. The Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the Keyport Fire Department as well as educating visitors on fire prevention.

The Association for Gravestone Studies (AGS) was founded in 1977 for the purpose of furthering the study and preservation of gravestones. AGS is an international organization with an interest in gravemarkers of all periods and styles. Through its publications, conferences, workshops and exhibits, AGS promotes the study of gravestones from historical and artistic perspectives, expands public awareness of the significance of historic gravemarkers, and encourages individuals and groups to record and preserve gravestones.

As the Smithsonian Institution's museum of African-American history and culture, the Museum explores American history, society, and creative expression from an African-American perspective. The museum encourages the collection, protection, and preservation of materials that reflect the history and traditions of families, organizations, individuals, and communities.

The Society operates a local history museum, the Jerome County Historical Museum, as well as the Idaho Farm and Ranch Agricultural Museum. The latter displays many specimens of old farm equipment and original buildings from the surrounding area, including an exhibit from the World War II Minidoka Japanese Relocation Camp that was located at Hunt, ID in Jerome County.

The Museum displays exhibits on Pasadena history. It also operates the 1906 Fenyes Mansion and the Finnish Folk Art Museum.

Founded in 1989, the Pacific Coast Air Museum (PCAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the acquisition, restoration, safe operation and display of historical aircraft and provides an educational venue for students and the community. The Pacific Coast Air Museum also focuses on honoring aviators, past and present, who have contributed to the defense of our way of life.

The Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois has been dedicated to preserving historic structures throughout the state of Illinois since 1971. Landmarks Illinois focuses on advocating succesfully for the preservation of historical structures across the state, and has been instrumental in both stalling efforts to demolish historic buildings as well as pushing for new legislation that favors preservation.

The site offers a wealth of information about preservation projects undertaken by the society, both past and present, as well as resources for users looking to aid in the preservation of structures important to them.

The Sharlot Hall Museum site consists of a central museum center and several historic buildings, including the 1864 Governor's Mansion, the 1934 Sharlot Hall Building (the museum's main exhibit space), the 1875 Fremont House, the 1877 Bashford House, the 1863 home Fort Misery, and a 1937 automobile-repair garage (which houses the museum's vehicle collection).

The Museum is the largest history museum in Texas with more than 285,000 square feet of space. On the campus of what is now West Texas A&M University, the Museum has more than three million artifacts, ranging from the Comanche Chief Quanah Parker's eagle feather headdress to collections of historic New Mexico and Texas art.
