Located in the heart of the Napa Valley wine country, the Park offers camping, picnicking, swimming, and hiking trails that go through stands of coastal redwoods as well as forests of Douglas-fir, tanoak, and madrone. Next to the park's visitor center is the Native American Garden which displays some of the plants important to the first people of this area. Today, many of the same plants are used by the Wappo people. A guide for the garden is available by mail or in the visitor center to broaden one's understanding of the first people. Near the day use/picnic area is the Pioneer Cemetery, resting-place of some of the original settlers of the Napa Valley. The cemetery is currently under restoration to return it to its original, mid-1800s appearance.

The purpose of Año Nuevo State Park is to preserve and protect a substantial area on the western slope of the central Coast Range inland from Año Nuevo Point. Cultural resources include the remnants of a prehistoric Native American village site and a number of structures from the 19th-century Cascade Ranch.

The historic Lyman Estate Greenhouses, dating back to 1804, are among the oldest examples still in existence in the United States.

The Lyman Mission House was built in 1839 as the Hawaii residence of New England missionaries David and Sarah Lyman. The home has been restored to period style, and is used to depict the lives and challenges of the Lymans. The neighboring museum presents Hawaiian history and culture through fine art pieces, other artifacts, and natural history exhibits. Exhibit topics include Hawaii climate zones, wildlife, minerals, shells, native tools and costume, Hawaiian royalty, sugar industry immigrants, and Chinese art. The site is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution.

The site offers period rooms, guided house tours, exhibits, guided house and museum tours for students, outreach programs for students, Elderhostel programs, and archive access. Appointments are required for archive access. All school groups must make reservations.

The Roseau County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Roseau County, MN. To this end, the society operates a museum of local history. Exhibit topics include the military, the Ojibwe, immigration, and natural history.

The society offers exhibits, research library access, and research assistance. A fee is charged for research library access and for research conducted upon request. The website offers historical photographs.

The Sluice Boxes State Park contains a portion of the Montana Central Railroad, remnants of the Barker mines, and historic cabins. Besides railroad workers and miners, the area was also utilized by men who drove mules, known as muleskinners; prospectors; and smeltermen.

The park offers a guided geology hike for students, three miles of trails, and outdoor activities. Wheelchair accessibility is limited. The website offers a lesson plan.

The Martin House Complex of Buffalo, New York is one of architect Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpieces. Completed in 1907 for Mr. and Mrs. Darwin D. Martin, the complex includes the in D. Martin House, the George F. Barton House, the Martin pergola, conservatory, carriage house and Gardener’s cottage. Currently some of the buildings are undergoing renovation.

The site offers group tours and field trips for school groups. Tours offered include a basic tour (1 hr), an in-depth tour (2 hr), a Focus tour with a master docent, or a group tour. Online resources for teachers are available free of charge on the site's Education page.

The Gem County Historical Society of Gem County, ID operates the Historical Village Museum. The museum complex contains a museum of the history of Emmett, ID; the circa 1900 cottage of the fifth governor of Idaho (1901-1903), Frank W. Hunt; the Little Red Schoolhouse; the Bunkhouse; and the Blacksmith Shop. The Hunt cottage contains its original furnishings. The Bunkhouse presents information on indigenous animal species and the local cattle and sheep industries. Topics addressed in the local history museum include Native American life, irrigation, the fruit industry, settlers, trappers, and miners. Collection highlights include a "coyote gun" and a broom maker dating to the 1880s.

The 281-acre Garfield Farm and Inn Museum consists of a farmstead and teamster inn, both of which date to the 1840s. The museum presents information on historic farming practices, the prairie environment, daily life, innkeeping, and transportation.

The museum offers tours, 90-minute student building tours, 90-minute student prairie tours, seminars, monthly prairie walks, outreach slide lectures, high school internships, and a summer camp. Appointments are required October through May.

The Faulkner County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Faulkner County, AR. To this end, the society operates the Faulkner County Museum. Exhibits within the museum address how the people of Faulkner County, beginning with local Native Americans, have adapted their daily lives to the surrounding environment.
