The Museum preserves the history of Dodge City and the Old West. Its Front Street buildings are reconstructions, representing Dodge City in 1876 and exhibiting hundreds of original artifacts. The various exhibits throughout the museum depict life in early Dodge City, and include a collection of over 200 original guns, a working print shop, and an extensive collection of drugstore items.

The museum offers exhibits, living history demonstrations, historically-inspired variety show entertainment, stagecoach rides, and chuckwagon-style dinners.

Roanoke Island Festival Park is a 27-acre state historic site and cultural center celebrating history, education, and the arts. Visitors can step aboard the Elizabeth II, a representative 16th-century sailing vessel; visit with Elizabethan explorers and soldiers in the Settlement Site; tour the Roanoke Adventure Museum, which explores 400 years of Outer Banks history; and view the docudrama, "The Legend of Two-Path."

The park offers exhibits, tours, demonstrations, performances, educational programs, research library access, and recreational and educational events (including living history events).

The Museum Center at 5ive Points presents the sociocultural history of Southeast Tennessee's Ocoee District. The museum's permanent exhibit discusses local Cherokee and other Native American life, the Trail of Tears and settlement, antebellum life, industry and commerce, the World War I and II eras, and the 1996 Olympics. Seven fictional living history characters give the exhibits a personal tone.

The center offers exhibits, a summer art camp, thematic school tours, homeschool programs, traveling trunks, and 50-minute interactive outreach programs.
Reservations are required for groups of 12 or more.

The Beatty Museum and Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the historical heritage of the Bullfrog Mining District and Southern Nye County. The museum chronicles the history of the area, from its prehistoric origins through the Bullfrog gold rush.

The museum offers guided tours and exhibits of local history. The website offers visitor information, a history of the area, and online research resources.

The Independence Mine State Historic Park commemorates the early history of Alaska, which first became populated during the gold rushes of the late 129th century. Gold was first discovered in the Independence Mine area in 1886, and within 20 years two major mines were operating in the area. Today, large portions of the mines are open to visitors year round.

The State Historical Park offers self-guided as well as guided tours, a visitor center, and a museum. The website offers visitor information and a history of the park.

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum, according to the website, houses "the oldest, most comprehensive American railroad collection in the world" on its 40-acre site.

The museum offers exhibits, train rides, self-guided and guided tours, research library access, and other recreational and educational events.

The Ball-Sellers House is an example of an ordinary 1700s home, built and inhabited by mid-18th-century yeoman farmer and miller, John Ball. The original logs with daubing, wide plank floors, and rare clapboard roof remain to this day.

The house offers an interpretive docent.

The Andover Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Andover, Massachusetts, founded 1646. To this end, the society operates the 1819 Amos Blanchard House and Barn Museum which illustrates the life of an early 19th-century (1820-1850), middle-class family. The barn contains a variety of vernacular tools. According to the society site, tour topics include "politics, religion, women's roles, economics, banking, youth, education, household management, and agriculture." Extensive archival materials are available for research at the Caroline M. Underhill Research Center.

"Calico was developed in 1881 during the largest silver strike in California. Located at the side of towering King Mountain, the town was named for the variety of colors in the mountain that were "as purty as a gal's calico skirt." Calico boomed during 1881-1896; but the end came to the silver rush in 1896 and by 1904 Calico had become a ghost town." Today, Calico is a fully restored living history location and contains a museum. Visitors to Calico can tour the historic structures that have been restored to their late 1800s state and interact with trained historical interpreters.

The Museum of Our Industrial Heritage presents the history and social aspects of industry within Franklin County, MA. Exhibits display locally made cutlery, machine tools, hand tools, taps and dies, and other items, as well addressing the World War II home front. Collection highlights include a circa 1880 screw thread cutting machine and a circa 1920 Goodell Pratt Company lathe. The museum is located within a historic factory.

The museum offers traditional and interactive exhibits, teacher workshops, field trips, interactive outreach programs for students, and archive access. The museum is open by appointment only.
