The temple is the oldest continuously used Chinese temple in California. On display are art objects, pictures, mining tools, and weapons used in the 1854 Tong War. This Taoist temple is still a place of worship and a fascinating look into the role played by Chinese immigrants in early California history. The temple was built in 1874 as a replacement for another that had burned. Many of the historical objects have been restored and the structure itself stabilized.

The Salem Historical Society Museum houses the town of Salem, Ohio's history over three buildings. Artifact's date back to the town's founding in 1806 and the rooms of the museum each have a theme, such as the Kitchen or the Clothes room.

Built in 1750, the Bidwell House served as a parsonage for the town's first minister, Reverend Adonijah Bidwell. The Museum contains artifacts from the daily life of its 18th and 19th century inhabitants.

Women in History seeks to increase awareness of women's impact on U.S. history through dramatic re-creations of the lives of notable female figures. Costumes are period or patterned from period pieces, and hairstyles are created by a specialist in historic hair design. The organization is able to portray more than 100 historical figures.

The organization offers presentations, which generally include two 25-minute living history presentations by costumed "historical figures," an opening and closing, and time for questions and answers. The organization also offers two programs designed specifically for elementary and middle school students.

The Van Buren County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Van Buren County, Iowa. To this end, the society operates 1845 Pearson House, a residence and Underground Railroad site, the second floor of which served as a Methodist Church; the 1847 Ellis School; the Keosauqua Log Cabin; the Selma Cabin; and the Historical Society Museum. The museum is housed in the circa 1875 Twombly Building, which previously served as a post office, bakery, grocery store, newspaper headquarters, and clothing store.

The Mormon Trials Association is dedicated primarily to the preservation of locations and structures pertaining to Mormon history, as well as promoting communication among Mormon historic sites. Thus, the association spends most of its resources on advocacy, but the association also offers a local tours program.

The Nordic Heritage Museum presents the history of Scandinavian immigrants in the United States, as well as serving as a cultural center where people of all backgrounds are welcomed to be inspired by the values, traditions, art, and spirit of the Nordic peoples.

The Museum offers guided tours of the Dream of America immigration exhibit as well as self-guided tour options. Outreach trunks can be rented for classroom use for two-week periods, and include hands-on items, curriculum materials, and activities. Available trunks are the Immigrant Trunk, Nordic Folk Art Trunk, Trolls and Norse Gods Trunk, and Viking Trunk. The Nordic Adventures program provides presentations for your classroom on a number of Nordic subjects, free of charge. Weekend programs are also available for families.

The Rose Lawn Mansion was originally built for nationally renowned evangelist Samuel Porter Jones. In 1973, the Victorian mansion was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in 1978 was purchased by Bartow County and converted into a historic house museum. The home houses the writings and memorabilia of both Samuel Jones and Rebecca Felton, the first woman to serve in the U.S. Senate.
