The Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum is the largest original
African American historical site in the United States. Established in 1998, it
includes Banneker’s original farmstead and a nature preserve that is located in Oella, Maryland. A multitude of adventures awaits you while exploring this 142-acre park and museum.

This site features: exhibits, excavated artifacts, multi-media presentations, a colonial cabin, gardens, and nature trails. Mary Bannaky may even welcome you to her homestead as she goes about her daily tasks.

Educational programs are available for students to learn about: Benjamin
Banneker’s extraordinary life and accomplishments, African American history in
Maryland, settlement and development of the Patapsco River Valley, life in the 18th century, and nature and environmental conservation.

Teachers are welcome to reserve a tour and/or rental space for professional development and teacher workshops. The site also provide digital data about our
programming.

The National Capital Trolley Museum preserves and interprets the heritage of electric and interurban railways of Washington, D.C. and environs for the benefit of present and future generations, while supplementing its collections with significant national and international objects to enhance its interpretive programs.

The museum offers exhibits, street car rides, educational programs, and occasional recreational and educational events.

The National Civil War Naval Museum at Port Columbus is a recently opened 40,000-square-foot museum dedicated to telling the story of the naval aspects of the Civil War. It has a full array of artifacts, exhibits, living history, and educational programs as well as research facilities.

The site offers exhibits, tours, educational programs, demonstrations, research library access, and occasional recreational and educational events (including living history events).

The Barnes County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Barnes County, ND, and the surrounding area. To this end, the society operates a museum of local history which contains relevant temporary exhibits. Collection highlights include the shoes of the "Largest Man in Dakota Territory," Christian Paetow, as well as a 1901 Oldsmobile.

The Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum is located within the Old Erie Canal State Historic Park in Central New York State. During the 19th and 20th centuries, 96-foot long cargo boats were built and repaired on this site. The Museum tells of the construction of these boats, the workings of the restored dry docks, and the social history of the canal area.

The museum offers exhibits, educational programs, and occasional recreational and historical events.

The Society operates Heritage Junction, a site including eight historic buildings: the 1890 Pardee House, the 1893 Newhall Ranch House, the 1887 Saugus Train Station, the 1865 Mitchell Adobe, the 1919 Edison House, the 1878 Kingsburry House, the 1927 Callahan Schoolhouse, and the 1926 Ramona Chapel.

The society offers lectures, film screenings, and occasional recreational and educational events; the Kingsburry House offers tours; and the Saugus Train Station offers exhibits.

On the west side of 1,000-foot-high Heceta Head, 205 feet above the ocean, the lighthouse is one of the most photographed on the coast. The light at top of 56-foot tower was illuminated in 1894; the automated beacon, seen 21 miles from land, is rated as the strongest light on the Oregon coast.

The Society owns and operates the Oregon Electric Railway Museum, the largest trolley museum in the Pacific Northwest.

The Gettysburg Fire Department Museum is part of the Gettysburg Fire Department, and is operated by members of the department who serve on the museum committee. These volunteers work to preserve the rich history of Gettysburg's fire service and maintain the collection for generations to come.
