The Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace Foundation serves three main functions. First, the Foundation aids in the operation of the presidential library for Richard Nixon. As such, the library offers an enormous amount of documents and information about the Nixon presidency, including all primary sources relevant to the administration. Secondly, the site serves as a historic house museum, and gives visitors a view of Richard Nixon aside from his presidency. Finally, the Foundation helps to raise interest and scholarship in the Nixon presidency by hosting events at the Nixon Library throughout the year.

The San Jose Fire Museum chronicles the history of the San Jose Fire Department, which was founded in 1854 and is the oldest paid fire departments in the country. The museum houses over 27 pieces of antique firefighting equipment as well as a collection of photographs of early firefighters in the San Jose Fire Department. The museum is open to tours by appointment. Finally, the museum is working to save San Jose Fire Station One and convert it into a new, state of the art, fire museum.

Coronado Island in the Bay of San Diego has a rich and storied history dating back to early Spanish explorers in the new world. The island was first surveyed in the early 17th century, but was not settled until 1846, when Mexico, newly independent from Spain, gave land grants to prospective settlers for Coronado Island. The Island then became a popular resort destination in the late 19th century, when the Hotel Del Coronado was built. Now, the southern portion of the island is owned by the United States Navy, and the northern part of the island is a popular suburb of San Diego. The Coronado museum gives visitors a taste of this rich history as well as art produced by local San Diego area artists.

The site offers visitor information, information about current, past, and upcoming exhibits, information on the art galleries currently available, an online store, and an events calendar.

This sandstone cave houses religious drawings by Chumash Native Americans, as well as likenesses of coastal fishermen that date back to the 1600s. Located above Santa Barbara in a steep canyon, the site preserves these examples of Native American art on the side walls of the rock shelter.

The park is open to the public.

Hollywood Heritage Inc. is dedicated to preserving Hollywood's past. Hollywood Heritage takes an active role in issues involving the historic structures along the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment National Register District as well as other structures in Hollywood. In addition to fighting for the preservation of historic Hollywood structures, Hollywood Heritage Inc. also runs a museum and hosts a variety of events in their headquarters, the Wattles Mansion.

The site offers press releases and information for activists regarding current preservation efforts. In addition, the site offers an archive of past newsletters, and an events calendar.

The Del Mar Historical Society works to collect, preserve, and chronicle the history of Del Mar, California. Del Mar's history is a tapestry of railroads, racehorses, fashionable hotels, sparkling beaches and glamorous Hollywood stars. The society puts out four newsletters a year and has an extensive collection of historical artifacts from Del Mar's history.

The site offers information about the society, an events calendar, a brief historical section about Del Mar, and an online store.

The Geraldine Milwaukee Depot is a fine example of America's early 20th century small town railroad depots. The Geraldine Milwaukee Depot is located in Geraldine, Montana and has received special attention due to its name, which derives from the namesake of the town of Geraldine, Geraldine Rockefeller. The Depot has been restored to its state in the early 1900s, and is available to the public by appointment.

The site is a division of the Montana State Travel Site, and so offers very basic information about the Depot intended for potential visitors.

The Art Deco Society of California (ADSC) is dedicated to honoring the aesthetic and architectural achievements of the first half of the 20th century, especially the decades of the 1920's, 30's and 40's that is now known as the Art Deco period. The ADSC was founded in 1981 by an architectural historian in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a member of the International Coalition of Art Deco Societies. The ADSC "endeavors to increase public awareness of the Art Deco era, to preserve and promote its art, architecture, music, fashions, transportation, and other forms of its popular culture." The ADSC researches and documents buildings and other artifacts worthy of preservation and also awards certificates of merit for noteworthy preservation and restoration efforts in California.

The site offers a calendar of events, a listing of notable Art Deco structures in the San Francisco Bay Area, past ADSC award winners, photo galleries for all past events held by the ADSC, and an archive of all issues of the ADSC magazine, "The Sophisticate," which are available for purchase.

"Historic sites in our islands are tangible evidence of a colorful, rich heritage and provide our society with a sense of continuity. The State Historic Preservation Division of the Department of Land and Natural Resources works to preserve and sustain reminders of earlier times which link the past to the present. SHPD's three branches, History and Culture, Archaeology, and Architecture, strive to accomplish this goal through a number of different activities." The archaeological Branch seeks to facilitate investigation of Hawaii's many archaeological resources, while the architectural division works to preserve and restore historic structures throughout the islands. The history and culture branch of SHPD focuses on research regarding the Hawaii's indigenous population.

The site offers basic information about the SHPD and its current projects along with government reports generated by the SHPD regarding Hawaii's historic resources.

Ardenwood Historic Farm is the historic home of George Washington Patterson. Patterson came west in 1849 during the gold rush to seek his fortune; instead he settled at Ardenwood Farm in southern Alameda County. The Historic Farm is faithfully restored and features agricultural practices from the 1870s to the present, demonstrating the transition from horse-powered equipment to modern farming equipment. There are more attractions than just the house, however. The park also features a horse-drawn train, victorian garden, animal farms, and a restored blacksmith shop.
