Champoeg features a combination of history, nature, and recreation. This is the site where Oregon's first provisional government was formed by a historical vote in 1843. Situated on the south bank of the scenic Willamette River, Champoeg's acres of forest, fields, and wetlands recreate the landscape of a bygone era. Visitors can tour the park's visitor center, Newell House, and Pioneer Mothers Log Cabin museums to discover pioneer life at Champoeg; or take a guided walk to learn what happened to the bustling pioneer town of Champoeg, and how the Donald Manson Barn was built. An 1860s-style garden lies next to the visitor center. The park also includes the Historic Butteville Store founded in 1863. It is considered the oldest operating store in Oregon. The store is the last commercial vestige of the once thriving Willamette River community of Butteville.

Located in San Francisco Bay, the U.S. Immigration Station at Angel Island served as a processing and detainment center for hundreds of thousands of immigrants and emigrants between 1910 and 1940. The Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation (AIISF) was founded in 1983 with the mission of continuing the preservation and educational efforts regarding Angel Island. Currently, AIISF raises funds to restore, preserve, and interpret the Angel Island Immigration Station. AIISF has recently launched the Angel Island Legacies Project, which trains oral historians and conducts interviews of detainees and descendants of all nationalities.

The site offers information about the AIISF, including FAQs and a history of the organization. In addition, the site offers resources for educators, including a curriculum guide, book recommendations, and helpful links; past media, including press and an archive of the "Passages" newsletter; and a brief historical section that covers the history of Angel Island.

The site consists of an 1816 Federal House and furnishings, one of the largest horse-drawn vehicle collections in Western New York State, five outbuildings, and 12 acres.

The Society operates a local history museum, the Jerome County Historical Museum, as well as the Idaho Farm and Ranch Agricultural Museum. The latter displays many specimens of old farm equipment and original buildings from the surrounding area, including an exhibit from the World War II Minidoka Japanese Relocation Camp that was located at Hunt, ID in Jerome County.

The Museum displays exhibits on Pasadena history. It also operates the 1906 Fenyes Mansion and the Finnish Folk Art Museum.

The Sharlot Hall Museum site consists of a central museum center and several historic buildings, including the 1864 Governor's Mansion, the 1934 Sharlot Hall Building (the museum's main exhibit space), the 1875 Fremont House, the 1877 Bashford House, the 1863 home Fort Misery, and a 1937 automobile-repair garage (which houses the museum's vehicle collection).

The Society's Museum
The Old Aurora Colony Museum displays and preserves artifacts recounting the history of the Aurora Colony communal society and presents the history, families, and crafts of Oregon's Aurora Colony. The colony was a Christian communal society, consisting nearly entirely of Swiss and German immigrants, which lasted from 1856 to 1883. The museum is located within several structures, including the circa 1860 Ox Barn, 1876 Steinbach Cabin, Will Family Summer Kitchen, Kraus boot and shoe shop, blacksmith shop, and the circa 1864 Kraus House. The Kraus House, Steinbach Cabin, and summer kitchen are furnished to period.

The museum offers exhibits, period rooms, one-hour guided tours, self-guided tours, educational programs for students, a fourth grade farm program for students, outreach speakers, and weekly programming related to quilting. Reservations are required for guided tours, student educational programs, and outreach speakers. The farm program includes a curriculum-based teacher's notebook and pre-visit video. The Buffalo County Historical Society was founded in 1972. Within a couple of years, the society began publishing a newsletter entitled "Buffalo Tales," which chronicled historical events and people in Buffalo County. The society has expanded since, and now operates the Trials and Rails museum and archives.
