The Greater Oneonta Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the historical heritage of Oneonta, New York, and the surrounding area. The society has recently purchased the 183 Main Street building, and is working to renovate it for use as a local history museum and research library.

The Pultneyville Historical Society seeks to preserve and present the history of Williamson Township, New York. To this end, the society offers exhibits within a circa 1858 home. Exhibits address the life and work of Horatio Nelson Throop, the 1898 loss of the schooner St. Peter, and local history as depicted through photography. Throop was a boat builder and captain. In the 1830s, he conducted experiments with wind and screw propeller propulsion systems. He was also active in the Underground Railroad. The society owns a collection of artifacts recovered from the wreck of the St. Peter.

The Century House, also known as the Snyder Estate, is the former home of Andrew Snyder, and was a small family farm until the discovery of natural cement in the region in 1825. The area experienced impressive industrial growth up to the 1970s, and was the United State's largest producer of cement during that time.

The estate offers guided tours of the Century House, Widow Jane Mine, and Cement Industry Museum. The estate also offers field trip programs, outreach programs, and special events. The website offers visitor information, a history of the estate, and information regarding upcoming events.

The Yonkers Fire Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the Yonker's Fire Department. The museum houses an impressive collection of firefighting memorabilia and artifacts, including a vintage hand pumper.

The Three Village Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Old Field, Poquott, the Setaukets, and Stony Brook, New York. To this end, the society operates exhibits of local history located within the circa 1800 Bayles-Swezey House.

The society offers exhibits, archival access, research assistance, 75-minute historic walking tours, guided field trips to Setauket, educational programs on local and Long Island history, and educational outreach programs. Appointments are required for archival access. Reservations are required for educational programs, and these programs are only available to elementary and junior high students in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Outreach programs are only available to elementary and junior high students in Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

The New York City Police Museum presents the cultural history, traditions, and policies of the New York City Police Department—the single largest police force in the world. Artifacts date back to early Dutch settlement. The site includes information relevant to September 11, 2001, as well as a memorial hall honoring officers who fell in the line of duty. Exhibit topics include police dress, transportation, communication equipment, portraits, weaponry, 9/11, and jails.

The site offers exhibits, films, and a child safety program designed for parents and guardians. Reservations are required for school groups.

The Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park consists of nine formal gardens, a greenhouse, an aviary, and an 1887 Queen Anne mansion.

The park offers free guided walking tours and a children's scavenger hunt trail.

The Lorenzo State Historic Site consists of Lorenzo, the 1807 neoclassical residence of five generations of the the Lincklaen or Ledyard family. The residence was built for John Lincklaen who founded the village of Cazenovia, New York; and worked for the Holland Land Company. The Rippleton Schoolhouse is available for educational programming.

The site offers audio-visual programs, costumed interpreters, gardens, guided tours, exhibits, educational services, interpretive signs, archival access, and a picnic area.
