The Fulton County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Fulton County, Indiana. To this end, the society operates a museum; a 1924 round barn, containing historic farming implements; a living history village; and a research library. Exhibit topics include music, art, living conditions between 1910 and 1935, toys, medicine, Native Americans, education, the military, recreation, trade, religion, and the circus.

The society also manages another site (www.potawatomi-tda.org) which shows the Potawatomi Trail of Death 1838 diary, photos of all 78 historical markers and of the many Potawatomi who had ancestors on the Trail of Death from Indiana to Kansas, exhibits, period rooms, a tour and scavenger hunt for students, and research library access.

The Pioneer Village Museum consists of over 30 historic structures and homes which give visitors a glimpse into the daily life of a pioneer town in early Wisconsin history. The village is operated by the Barron County Historical Society.

The Historic Rogers Street Fishing Village and associated Great Lakes Coast Guard Museum is composed of five historic structures that chronicle the evolution of the fishing community of Two Rivers, WI. The 1886 pierhead lighthouse, 1887 Life Saving Station, and a 1936 wooden fishing tug are highlights of the museum's collection.

The Coastal Heritage Society is dedicated to preserving the history of Savannah, Georgia, and the Georgia coastline. The society runs four historic sites, the Savannah History Museum, the Roundhouse Museum, Old Fort Jackson, and the recently completed Battlefield Park, which commemorates the 1779 Battle of Savannah. The society also boasts C.S.S. Georgia, a Civil War Ironside that was used as a floating battery for Savannah's protection.

Museum Village is a living history site depicting 19th-century life. The site includes a replica 1805 schoolhouse, general store, drug store, 18th-century cabin, weave shop, candle shop, broom shop, blacksmith shop, wagon shop, print shop, pottery shop, costume exhibit building, and natural history building. The natural history building houses a mastodon skeleton.

The village offers interactive and traditional exhibits, costumed interpreters, demonstrations, hands-on activities, a summer day camp, five curriculum-based workshops for students, and picnic tables. Workshops topics include candle making, open hearth cooking, stenciling, printing, and natural dyeing. The site is only partially wheelchair accessible.

In historic Deerfield, visitors can step back into early America as they tour 11 house museums, exploring hundreds of years of history along an original, mile-long street. Two houses, the Stebbins House and Sheldon House, are available for self-guided tours all day during the regular season.

In 1880, the town of Rugby was established by British author and social reformer Thomas Hughes as a Utopian colony for Christians who wanted to build a cooperative agricultural community free of class tensions and distinctions. Though the colony caused a lot of controversy and only lasted two decades, the descendents of some of the colonist has preserved this interesting compound in rural Tennessee.

Guided tours of the historic town are available, though there is no specific tour for school groups. Workshops and events are offered but can be quite expensive. Lodging and dinging options are also offered on site.
