The Society seeks to, through its museum and other means, collect, preserve, and publish any material and knowledge about the history of Afton.

The museum offers exhibits, tours, and occasional recreational and educational events.

The Museum of Our Industrial Heritage presents the history and social aspects of industry within Franklin County, MA. Exhibits display locally made cutlery, machine tools, hand tools, taps and dies, and other items, as well addressing the World War II home front. Collection highlights include a circa 1880 screw thread cutting machine and a circa 1920 Goodell Pratt Company lathe. The museum is located within a historic factory.

The museum offers traditional and interactive exhibits, teacher workshops, field trips, interactive outreach programs for students, and archive access. The museum is open by appointment only.

The Hershey - Derry Township Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Hershey and Derry Townships, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. To this end, the society operates a museum and research center. The museum presents information on Milton Snavely Hershey (1857-1945), the founder of Hershey's, who made chocolate affordable to the masses, and life in the area prior to Hershey. The archives include cemetery listings, obituaries, historic photographs, obituaries, and oral histories, among other items.

The Ames Florida Stork House, open to visitors throughout the year, chronicles the history of three of Rockford's most prominent families, beginning in the mid-1800s.

The house currently functions as a historic house museum, and offers visitor tours, collections of 19th- and 20th-century furnishings and textiles, and a vintage clothing collection. The website offers basic visitor information, a brief history of the home, and a virtual tour.

Inside the walls of the History Museum, the past comes alive through the stories, photographs, and artifacts of people of the Fox Valley. The museum's mission is to inspire appreciation for the rich history of the Fox River Valley area communities through the collections, exhibits, and education at the History Museum at the Castle. Owned and operated by the Outagamie County Historical Society, the Museum holds collections representing the history of the Fox Valley dating back to 1840s.

As well as Virtual Exhibits, a wide variety of curricula and lessons – all aligned to WI State Learning Standards, and a multitude of primary sources accessible online!

The Oregon Jewish Museum presents the history of Oregon's Jewish population, one of the state's earliest immigrant communities. The only Jewish museum in the Pacific Northwest, the Oregon Jewish Museum holds extensive collections largely focused on the years 1850 to present.

The Museum presents wide-ranging exhibits on U.S. history, from the traditional stories of Paul Revere, George Washington, and the American Revolution to novel topics such as Route 66, diners, neon signs, or even doing laundry in America. Each year, the museum holds as many as 18 changing exhibitions.

The museum offers exhibits, guided and self-guided tours for school groups, educational programs for all grade levels, research library access, and recreational and educational events.

The Williamson County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Williamson County, Illinois. To this end, the society operates a museum of local history, housed within the 1916 jail and sheriff's residence. Rooms are set to period appearance. Settings include domestic spaces, a garment shop, a doctor's office, a country store, and a schoolroom. A military exhibit is also located on site.

The society offers period rooms, exhibits, one-hour museum tours, research library access, and research assistance. A fee is charged for research conducted on request.

The Kalamazoo Valley Museum describes itself as a "participatory museum of history, science, and technology." History-related permanent exhibits emphasize local history.

The museum offers planetarium shows (including "Sky Legends of the Three Fires"), film screenings, self-guided tours, and 20-min. walk-in history demonstrations, as well as hands-on, in-museum workshops. As of April 22, 2010, social-studies-relevant workshops included "Secrets in the Sky, Secrets on the Ground: The Story of the Underground Railroad in Michigan," "Three Fires Native Americans," "Geography," and "Pioneer Life."

Interpretive exhibits begin 15,000 years ago with prehistoric people and continue through the early 1900s, with special displays of furniture, silver, weapons, quilts, and paintings. The museum's Civil War holdings of uniforms, battle flags and weapons are among the finest in the nation. Visit the museum's changing gallery for special exhibitions."

Across the street from the State Museum, and affiliated with it, is the Military Branch Museum. According to the museum website, "Exhibits deal with America's overseas conflicts, beginning with the Spanish-American War in 1898 and ending with World War II in 1945."

The museum also manages guided tours of the Tennessee State Capitol, first opened in 1859.

The museum offers 35-to-40-min. state-curriculum-aligned tour programs for all grade levels. Programs focus on specific periods in history and exhibits; some include hands-on activities and first-person interpretations of historical figures. Self-guided tours of the museum are also available. All programs, included self-guided, require reservations. The museum may also offer programs associated with changing exhibitions.
