The Watertown Historical Society seeks to preserve and share knowledge of Watertown, Wisconsin's history. The society operates the Octagon House, one of the largest single family pre-Civil War residences in Wisconsin. Completed in 1854 by John Richards—a lawyer, mill owner, and early Watertown settler—the house now contains period rooms for public display.

The UDC Confederate Memorial Museum houses historic items from throughout Colorado County, including ladies' mourning jewelry, rare china, military uniforms, and a three-barrel shotgun. The collection is located within Columbus, Texas' historic water tower, built 1883. The structure has also served as a fire house.

The African American Museum presents information regarding the arrival of Africans and the development of the free African American community within Louisiana. The museum also interprets their struggles, adaptations, and contributions, with particular emphasis on the Attakapas District of Southwest Louisiana during the 18th and 19th centuries. It outlines the rise and fall of slavery, highlighting the economic struggles faced by the free African American population during Reconstruction.

Brookside Museum, operated by the Saratoga County Historical Society, presents collections and programs on the history of Saratoga County. The museum conducts research in the field of Saratoga County history and publishes results in the form of exhibits, programs, print publications, and an interactive website. Brookside also fosters research through access to its library and collections and by providing educational programming at the museum, in the community, and online.

The Historical Society of Palm Beach County promotes local history, in part through support of the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County Museum. Located in a historic 1916 courthouse, the museum presents artifacts that once belonged to Pre-Columbian inhabitants; Seminole Indians; early pioneers; the business and philanthropic community; educators; and influential leaders in communications, medicine, and politics.

The society offers fourth-grade Florida history and preservation curricula, a seventh-grade county history and civics curriculum, several traveling trunks, docent-guided walking tours, lectures, an annual art contest with a historic theme, and a history institute for social studies and history teachers.
The A.R. Bowman Memorial Museum presents a wide range of displays detailing Crook County history including the City of Prineville Railroad, the ups and downs of the timber industry, and a military exhibit. Along with these major exhibits the museum offers historically accurate depictions of pioneer life and local history. The stone building housing the museum was built as the Crook County Bank in 1910.

The Fulkerson Mansion and Farm Museum presents the cattle farm—Hazy Dell—and Southern-style Victorian mansion which became the home of Lt. Colonel William H. Fulkerson after his stint with the Confederate Army. Hazel Dell is virtually unchanged today; and the Farm Museum contains many rare agricultural items and equipment with emphasis on farm steam traction engines—utilized for plowing the prairie, threshing grain, and for powering early sawmills. The museum features Reeves steam engines and plows, while the 1866 mansion is furnished with antiques and artifacts of the period, with a special display of the Fulkerson's personal Civil War items, Lafayette Baker's Civil War artifacts, and the Thomas Lincoln Anvil. The building is in an Italianate style—with a low pitched roof and tall, narrow windows—popular between the 1850s and 1880s.

The Boalsburg Heritage Museum seeks to preserve and share the history of the Boalsburg and Harris Townships, Pennsylvania. The Sarah Sweet House, which holds the museum, was built in 1825 in a typical Pennsylvania Dutch architectural style. The interior houses a variety of period decorative arts original to the area, as well as relevant exhibits.

The La Mesa Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of La Mesa, California. This history encompasses time as grazing land for cattle and sheep in the late 1800s and as a silent movie production center in the early 1900s. The society is located within the 1908 Reverend Henry McKinney House, a turn of the century house museum. In addition to maintaining the Rev. Henry McKinney House and Museum, the Society is also home to the Palermo building. The Palermo building houses city directories and 1,500 photographs depicting early La Mesa.
The society hosts local third grade classes for McKinney House tours and educational programming on schooling and daily life in the early 1900s. Other opportunities include walking tours, annual historic home tours, photographic presentations, exhibits at special events, and quarterly history roundtables.
