The Historical and Genealogical Society of Indiana County seeks to preserve and share the history of Indiana County, Pennsylvania. To this end, the society operates a museum and a research library. Exhibit topics include Native American life, farm life, historical medicine, and coal mining.

The Wayne County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the history of Wayne County, Pennsylvania. The Cliveden National Trust Historic Site is located in the Germantown neighborhood in Philadelphia. The house served seven generations of Philadelphia's Chew family, and housed British troops during the Revolutionary War.

The Westmoreland County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of Westmoreland, PA. The society offers periodic tours of historical sites in the area and operates the historic Hanna's Town. The village consists of the reconstructed Hanna Tavern/Courthouse and three vintage late 18th century log houses, a reconstructed Revolutionary era fort and blockhouse, and a wagon shed that houses an authentic late 18th century wagon.

Eli Slifer is notable for serving in the position of Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania during the Civil War. It was during this period that the Slifer house was completed. Slifer lived in this home until his death in 1888. Today, the house and the surrounding grounds are owned by Albright Care Services, and offer visitors a view into the history of Pennsylvania as well as a variety of events, including tours and a summer camp.

The Conrad Weiser Homestead is a Pennsylvania state historic site which interprets the life of Conrad Weiser. Weiser was an 18th-century German immigrant who served as an Indian interpreter and who helped coordinate Pennsylvania's Indian policy. He played a major role in the history of colonial Pennsylvania. The Homestead includes period buildings and a new orientation exhibit, on a 26-acre Olmsted-designed landscaped park.

The Morgan Log House is a restored example of early domestic architecture. Located in Eastern Pennsylvania, the home was originally built for Daniel Boone's grandfather, Edward Morgan. Today, the exhibits many fine examples of antique furniture, metals, household implements, and colonial period decorative arts from the early Welsh and Germanic traditions of Pennsylvania.

The Museum tells the story of the people who came from Europe to work in the anthracite mining and textiles industries. On a tour of the facility visitors will experience the lives of proud people who endured harsh working conditions yet carved out communities filled with tradition. The diverse collection highlights life in the mines, mills, and factories. The Conococheague Institute serves as a center for developing and promoting an awareness of the natural history and cultural significance of the Conococheague region, and more broadly, the Appalachian frontier in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. The Institute has a special focus on exploring the history of the clash of cultures in the backcountry and the conflicts here from the French and Indian War through the American Revolution.

The Historical Society of Berks County is dedicated to preserving the history of Berks County, PA, and does so through the collection and promotion of local historical resources and artifacts. The society maintains both a historical museum and library, which are both open to the public.
