The Alamogordo Museum of History presents the socio-cultural history of Alamogordo, Otero County, and the Tularosa Basin, New Mexico. Topics addressed include Native Americans, railroad workers, miners, and ranchers.

The Heritage Society of Washington County seeks to preserve and share the architecture and history of Washington County, Texas. To this end, the society operates the 1869 Giddings Stone Mansion and 1843 Giddings Wilkin House Museum. Both residences are furnished to period. The owner of both properties, Jabez Deming Giddings, was involved in real estate, cattle, banking, and the railway systems.

The society offers period rooms and tours. Reservations are required.

The Nevada Historical Society museum collections house over 15,000 artifacts, including mining and ranching equipment, artwork, clothing, and items related to the state's gambling industry. The permanent exhibition on Nevada history illustrates the lives of the earliest inhabitants of the Great Basin, the desert stretches of the Immigrant Trail, the Comstock era, the effects of Nevada's liberal marriage and divorce laws, and the rise of the gambling industry. The Nevada Historical Society's library, photograph, and manuscript collections constitute the largest and most complete repository of materials related to the history of Nevada and the Great Basin. Materials available to the public include books, newspapers and periodicals, print files, maps, government documents, subject files, ephemera, manuscript collections, and over 500,000 photographs.

The museum offers exhibits, guided and self–guided tours, hands-on activities, in–classroom presentations on a variety of subjects, a documentary presentation and discussion series, screenings of movies which are set in Nevada, and a research library. The website offers virtual exhibits, children's activities, and a comprehensive PDF outlining available teacher resources.

The park has 34 miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian rails winding through coastal terraces and valleys. Several restored buildings once belonging to the Wilder family are preserved. The park has tours and living history demonstrations to help visitors explore the history of early ranchers and farmers along the Central Coast. The site was originally the main rancho supplying Santa Cruz Mission. It later became a successful and innovative dairy ranch. Surrounding grounds include Victorian homes, gardens, and historic adobe.

"The museum building is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Van Horn. When Culberson County was first created (it broke off from El Paso County), the Museum site served as the first courthouse while one was being constructed. It subsequently served as a hotel for more than four decades. It was purchased in 1979 by the Museum Association and has been in the process of restoration since that time.

The Museum contains a large quantity of artifacts reflecting the history of Van Horn and the surrounding area. It features an old western style saloon with bar and mirrored back bar which have been in the same room since the early 1900’s. There are displays showing the history of mining, ranching, the railroad, and other early activities, as well as personal items which belonged to members of early pioneer families who first settled here."

The George Ranch Historical Park presents living history interpretation of the history of Fort Bend County, Texas and neighboring areas. The site consists of a 23,000-acre working ranch, which interprets the periods between 1824 and circa 1940. Sites include the 1830s Jones Stock Farm, 1860s Ryon Prairie Home, a sharecropper's farm, chuck wagon camp, blacksmith shop, the 1890s Davis Victorian Mansion, a family cemetery in use between the 1820s and 1916, and the 1930s George Ranch House.

The park offers period rooms; hands-on activities; guided group tours; self-guided tours; 11 educational program options for students, including two role-playing programs; a homeschool day program; demonstrations; home tours; living history interpreters; period lunches; a tram; and a cafe. Groups desiring guided tours must include at least 15 individuals. Meal options are available for groups.

The Osceola County Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of the Kissimmee and St. Cloud areas, Florida. To this end, the society operates a museum and a historical village, which depicts early pioneer life in the state of Florida. Permanent exhibits include general local history and the county citrus industry. The village includes a schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, citrus packing house, wash and smoke house, residence, cattleman camp, country store, and water tower.

The society offers exhibits, period rooms, field trip programs about pioneer or cattleman life, outreach presentations for schools, a high school history club, a Scout program, continuing education programs, summer camps, and research library access.

The Catalina Island Museum presents 7,000 years of the history of Santa Catalina Island. Permanent exhibit topics include the Gabrielinos, resort history, sport fishing, media history, Avalon's casino, the Chinese junk Ning Po, steamships, and ranching. The museum collections consist of more than 150,000 artifacts. Collection highlights include Catalina tiles and Gabrielino artifacts.

The museum offers exhibits, Avalon walking tours, customizable lectures and tours, student tours, and a research center. An appointment and two weeks notice is required for archival or collections access.
